A small pond just off the forest trail beckoned me with the lure of froggy possibilities. I found a couple of treefrog species that I had seen earlier (Polypedates leucomystax and Polypedates macrotis) and was just about to continue down the trail when I saw one more treefrog in the pond's surrounding foliage. At first glance it could have been either of those other two species, but I noticed that its head shape was a little different. Sure enough, Polypedates colletti has a uniquely pointed snout.

The combination of pointy snout and nearly closed pupils makes this Polypedates colletti look like a space alien.
