Phelsuma modesta

Modest Day Gecko
Subspecies I've seen:

P. m. leiogaster
Modest Day Gecko
Phelsuma modesta leiogaster

Modest Day Gecko

In addition to the Banded Day Geckos on the wooden beams, and the Thick Tail Geckos on the tree trunks, our lodge was blessed with a few of these beautiful geckos on a palm tree near the pool.
Here is a list of all the reptiles and frogs I saw on this 2023 trip to Madagascar.

This species shows obvious sexual dimorphism, with females being fairly dull-colored and males shining like neon beacons.
