Lorrie Smith and I found several of these small, agile frogs at the edges of a stream. For some reason, I only had my new super-telephoto point-and-shoot Canon SX50 with me. That camera is great when the target is far away, but mediocre at best for close-up macro shots. This was the only decent photo I got.

The next day, we pulled over again at the same spot so I could try to get better photos with my fancier Pentax K5 + macro lens. There were fewer frogs hopping about than the previous day, but I did get a few better photos.

Same place, a couple of years later with a different set of herpers. We all took turns trying to chase down these long-distance hoppers in order to get decent photos.
