Strophurus strophurus
—
Western Spiny-tailed Gecko
Also known as:
Western Ring-tailed Gecko, Silver Spinytail Gecko

My sister and I saw several of these geckos on the road at night. From a distance they look fairly drab, but a closer look reveals intricate scale patterns, yellow eye and tail rings, and those fantastic eyes.
Ive written up an account of this three-week trip to Australia here.
